Searching for a weight loss plan that actually works? It all comes to the fact that our bodies react differently to calories and food over time. If you lose a kilogram or so for the first week of your diet, this doesn't mean that you will keep on losing a kilogram every week. Eventually, this weight loss will decline and you will need to cut more calories and incorporate exercise in your daily routine for weight loss results. Bob Harper, celebrity trainer from 'The Biggest Loser', a TV show, reveals that the diet trumps workout consistently. He has learnt this from experience by putting overweight people through gruelling fitness paces.

Women take note, recent studies suggest that a single hormone called follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) could be responsible for your weight gain woes after 50. This hormone typically regulates the creation of eggs in women; however, as women's ovaries begin to fail before menopause, blood levels of FSH rise, potentially causing weight gain despite a healthy diet and regular exercise. For people suffering from diabetes, exercise is a natural aid that helps the body to self-regulate its blood sugar levels. During exercise, a special chemical (cytokine interleukin-6) is produced that clears glucose from the muscles into the bloodstream, hence keeping blood sugar levels at a healthy level.
Running is an excellent way to lose weight as it involves moderate- to vigorous-intensity activity. Moderate-Intensity activity is one in which you breathe quickly (but never run out of breath) and sweat lightly after 10 minutes. Vigorous-Intensity activity is one in which your breathing is deep and fast, and you develop a sweat after a few minutes. So get into the habit of knowing how much serving you need to fill your stomach moderately. When you do this it will prevent you from overeating and packing on unnecessary pounds.
