18 Reasons Summer Is The Best Time To Lose Weight

Lose Weight In Summer

I no longer had a choice. Generally women want to lose weight in Ramadan while men don't want to get to skinny. This Ramadan I don't want to lose the muscle and strength, I want to maintain what I have gained and lean out by reducing my body fat percentage. This will help me see definition in my body. I'm down to 20.3% body fat and my goal is to further reduce it to 18% which would be excellent for my height, age and weight. I need 1540 calories per day with 120grams of protein and just because I'm fasting doesn't mean I can't get those calories in. Divided between Suhoor, Iftar and afterwards, I can plan meals that are high in protein to hit my protein targets and plan meals that are nutritious and will hep me reach my calorie requirements.

Dr Goldhamer: Well, you would prefer not to have people die. So number 1 on the list is avoiding mortality. Patients are going to have all kinds of adverse symptoms. They are going to experience a foul taste in the mouth. They are going to get low back pain in early phases of fasting because of referral activity from changes in the kidneys. They are often going to get skin rashes, discharges from mucous membranes, headaches, irritability, nausea, and vomiting. Orthostatic hypertension is a common issue, so we have to train patients to move slowly as they get up so they do not experience orthostatic events.

Like you, I feel like bread makes a big difference in my satiation levels so I eat the highest quality bread I can find (I live in a town with a bakery that stone grinds its own wheat and only uses heirloom, organic grains. I realize everyone's not that lucky) and am thoughtful about the amount I eat. I also know that there are a couple of foods that work as well for me - wheat berries and baked potatoes with their skin on (white or sweet work equally). Though I'm with Darya, if I feel like I've been splurging a lot I cut these things out for a very brief period.
